Multivac R245 Horizontal Thermoformer

The machine features Fanuc robotic feeders, an IDI automation loading system for loading pockets, and a servo-driven chain advance with a holding brake. Integrated systems include a central lubrication system, a Dimplex JHI-1500-CM recirculating water chiller, and an Intelijet HD Servo WAS Piezo printing system by Bell-Mark. It also includes a powered film unwind with splice tables for both top and bottom webs.

The Tyvek or flexible Top Web Film has a 405mm width with a +/-1mm tolerance and is three mils thick. The Bottom Web (flexible) is a PA/PE type measuring 422mm wide with a +2mm tolerance and a thickness of 5.9mil. A lifting mechanism and a servo-driven chain advance are utilized to manage these materials during the packaging process.

This machine features a sanitary stainless steel design suitable for industrial production. It is currently equipped with an IDI automation loading system and Fanuc SCARA robots to facilitate high-throughput packaging. The inclusion of a central lubrication system and a vision system in the print registration area supports heavy-duty operations in various food processing environments.

The machine is currently tooled for a two cavity, 13 track die. The configuration specifies 380mm for the cutoff and 19mm for the edge trim. These specific dimensions are set for the current production setup of the horizontal thermoformer.
