Reconditioned Machines

Rebuilt in our shop. Tested like it's yours. Ready to run.

Every reconditioned machine that leaves our Skokie facility has been through a four-stage rebuild: mechanical, electrical, cosmetic, and a final QA and production test. The result is equipment that performs like new at a fraction of the cost, backed by a team that has been rebuilding food processing and packaging machinery since 1991.

Why buy reconditioned from M&M

Like-new performance without the like-new price tag

A reconditioned machine is only as good as the shop that rebuilt it. For 30+ years, food processors across the country have trusted M&M Equipment because we do the work ourselves, in our own facility, with technicians who specialize in this equipment. We do not clean a machine up and ship it out. We tear it down, rebuild it, and prove it runs before it ever reaches your floor.

Our reconditioning process

Four stages. No shortcuts.

Every machine we recondition moves through the same four-stage process before it earns the M&M name. Here is exactly what happens between the day a machine arrives and the day it ships to you.

Rebuild

Mechanical Reconditioning

The rebuild starts at the core of the machine. Our technicians tear into the critical components that determine how a machine runs and how long it lasts.

  • Shafts, seals, gears, belts, and drive assemblies inspected, repaired, or replaced
  • Alignment, speed control, and motion tested for consistent output
  • Worn parts replaced, not patched, to restore smooth and reliable operation
1
Restore

Electrical Reconditioning

Next we restore the electrical systems to factory-level performance so the machine runs consistently and keeps your maintenance costs down.

  • Control panels, wiring, circuits, relays, and PLC systems inspected and repaired
  • Motors, sensors, switches, and power distribution tested under load
  • Grounding verified for safe, consistent operation
2
Refinish

Cosmetic Reconditioning

A machine from M&M does not just perform like new. It looks like new, and in a food plant that finish is about sanitation as much as appearance.

  • Deep-cleaned, polished, and repainted, including stainless steel surfaces
  • Finished to strict sanitation and aesthetic standards
  • Ready to go straight onto a production floor and pass inspection
3
Prove It

Final QA & Testing

Before any machine ships, it has to prove itself. We run every unit under real production conditions and verify it is safe, complete, and performing to spec.

  • Safety mechanisms verified: e-stops, guards, interlocks, warning labels, and pressure controls
  • Full function test under production conditions, not just a bench check
  • Final quality sign-off by our service team before the machine leaves our floor
4
Mechanical. Electrical. Cosmetic. Final QA and testing. Every machine, every time. That is what "reconditioned" means when it comes from M&M.

The case for reconditioned

Why smart operators buy reconditioned

New equipment has its place, but for most processing and packaging applications a properly reconditioned machine is the better business decision.

A Fraction of the Cost

Get proven, production-ready machinery at a significant savings over new, and put the difference back into your operation.

Weeks, Not Months

New OEM lead times can run six months or more. Our reconditioned machines are in stock, rebuilt, and ready to ship.

Proven Platforms

Hollymatic, Handtmann, Vemag, Biro, Multivac, Treif: workhorse machines with track records, parts availability, and operators who already know them.

Rebuilt and Proven

Every unit passes our four-stage process and a final production test before it ships. You see it run before it is yours.

Reconditioned equipment FAQs

What buyers ask us most about our reconditioned machines.

It means the machine has completed our four-stage process: mechanical reconditioning, electrical reconditioning, cosmetic reconditioning, and a final QA and testing stage where we run the machine under real production conditions. Worn components are repaired or replaced, controls are restored, surfaces are refinished to sanitation standards, and the machine is proven to run before it ships. It is a rebuild, not a cleanup.

Yes, and we encourage it. We film our reconditioned machines running on our shop floor, so in most cases we can send you a video of the exact unit you are considering. You are also welcome to visit our Skokie facility for an in-person inspection, or we can set up a live video demo.

It varies by machine and market, but reconditioned equipment typically costs a fraction of the new OEM price. Just as important, it is available now. When a new machine carries a six-month lead time, the production you gain by installing reconditioned equipment in weeks is often worth as much as the purchase savings.

Our specialty is food processing and packaging machinery, with particular depth in meat, poultry, and protein processing: grinders, mixers, vacuum stuffers and fillers, slicers, dicers, tumblers, patty formers, band saws, vacuum packaging machines, cart lifts, and more, from manufacturers like Hollymatic, Handtmann, Vemag, Biro, Treif, Multivac, and Grasselli.
